General reminders:

Brunch Service (Peachtree Dunwoody House)

Please arrive no earlier than 9 a.m. the day of your event and plan your drive time with traffic in mind. It is important that we get started on time to ensure our families are served brunch is served at 10:30 a.m. Each group must wear masks and gloves during the duration of volunteering in our kitchens. Keeping a sanitary environment for our families is of utmost importance.

  • All food must be prepared on-site in our kitchen unless purchased from a commercial kitchen establishment such as a restaurant, caterer, or deli.
  • All volunteers must be 14 years of age or older
  • Headcount: Our Houses have been operating at full capacity for months. Due to that, we are asking our meal groups to slightly increase the numbers of individuals they are cooking for.
  • Be prepared to serve around 30 guests for brunch.
  • Our families have differing hospital schedules. The headcount listed may not come through when the meal is served (10:30-11:30 am). Some families will eat the meals when they return from the hospital later in the day. This is why we ask for all groups to individually package leftovers.
  • Serving meals:
  • We ask that groups serve the families the meal you provide, rather than just setting up a buffet and families serve themselves. This allows for improved food safety and personal connection with the families.
  • Packaging leftovers:
  • To reduce the spread of germs and accommodate the families that eat later in the night, volunteers must pack leftover prepared food into individually sized containers for families to enjoy after mealtime.
  • We request that you package hot food in one container, and cold food (salads, fruit, etc). in another container.
  • Please plan on bringing to-go boxes with you to pack up your leftovers at the end of the night. Recommended food containers can be found on our Amazon wish list. This improves food safety and is more convenient for our families.
