The Edison Memorial Tower, designated as a historic site by both the New Jersey and National Registers of Historic Places, is a tribute to the inventive and entrepreneurial legacy of Thomas Alva Edison. Located in the Menlo Park region of Edison, Middlesex County, New Jersey, this memorial commemorates the accomplishments of the renowned inventor and entrepreneur. Standing on the same grounds where Edison's Menlo Park laboratory once stood, the tower marks the location of the world's first organized research and development facility. It was on this historic site that the groundbreaking functional incandescent light bulb was successfully created in October 1879. April, recognized as Earth Month, is dedicated to raising awareness and promoting initiatives related to environmental conservation and sustainability. It serves as a time for global engagement in actions aimed at fostering environmental stewardship through diversification, education, and activation. This April, Sewa International, partnering with the Edison Memorial Tower Corporation , welcomes volunteers to engage in an extensive cleanup and beautification initiative at Thomas Edison State Park. Collaboratively, we will clear fallen trees, prune bushes and shrubs, and create walking trails leading to a pond on the expansive 36-acre Menlo Park property. Joining forces, we aim to construct a safe and inspiring environment that sparks innovation and empowers individuals to pursue their dreams. Together We Serve Better!
